I understand the importance of adding discounts to specific line items. While this function works in QuickBooks Online, you can send feedback to apply this on the Desktop version.
 

Here's how:

1. Go to the Help Menu.
2. Select Send Feedback Online.
3. Choose the type of feature you want and follow on screen instructions.
