In most cases, this issue can be resolved by downloading the latest QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) updates. You'll want to ensure that your QBDT program is on the latest release to be able to print the form in the desired format. Please check below the releases for QBDT for Windows that will allow you to print 1099 NEC 3 page:
- QuickBooks 2022/Enterprise 22 - R3_71 (or later)
- QuickBooks 2021/Enterprise 21 - R8_62 (or later)
- QuickBooks 2020/Enterprise 20 - RR13_39 (or later)
- QuickBooks 2019/Enterprise 19 - R16_55 (or later)
Then, here are the releases required to print 1099 NEC 3 per page in QBDT for Mac:
- QuickBooks Mac Plus 2022 R4 (or later)
- QuickBooks Mac 2021 R8 (or later)

For your concern, @PHI89, we can manually update your QBDT program to fix the update message. Before that, you'll have to completely close out and shut down your QBDT and restart your computer. The system may need a slight reboot for the updater to successfully install the release patches. Here's how:
- To end all QuickBooks processes, press the CTRL + ALT + Delete keys on your keyboard.
- Then, select Task Manager.
- From the Processes tab, find the active QuickBooks (usually QuickBooks (32 bit).
- Next, select them one at a time, then choose End task.
Once done, restart your computer. When your computer opened, proceed in updating your QBDT program.
Pulling up reports to easily review your 1099 information in QBDT is easy. You can either run the 1099 Summary or 1099 Detail report. Take note that they default to the current date format so you'll have to set the correct date range.
