Let me address your concerns one at a time, @PHI89 and @arl686s.

@PHI89, one of the possible reasons why QuickBooks crashes is that your company file is damaged. To get this fix, let's run the Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Here's how:

  1. Close your QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Download the latest QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  3. Open and install the downloaded file.
  4. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Program Problems.
  5. Select Quick Fix my Program.
  6. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

If you get the same result, you can check out this article for more troubleshooting steps: Solutions for when QuickBooks has stopped working.

Also, you'll want to make sure that the release version of your QuickBooks Desktop 2020 is R13_(39+). This way, you can print the updated 1099 forms.

@arl686s, I appreciate you performing the troubleshooting steps shared by my colleague above. Since it didn't work, I recommend reaching out to our QuickBooks Support Team. They can look into the matter further and provide additional troubleshooting steps to get your 1099s form correctly aligned. To reach them, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Help icon and select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  2. Click Contact Us.
  3. Write your concerns in the description box, then select Continue.
  4. Select which one of the support options you'd like to use.

You might want to learn more about 1099 forms. This article will provide you the detailed information: Get answers to your 1099 questions.

I'm still open to your replies, @PHI89 and @arl686s. If you need further assistance printing 1099 forms, just comment below or post again.
