Hi there, @MicheleAlbanese, @BoJangles2020, and @Daily1. Let me address your concerns one a time.

@MicheleAlbanese, you can go to the Help menu and update your QuickBooks Desktop with the critical fixes applied. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu, select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Select the Options tab and click Mark All.
  3. Click the Update Now tab. Make sure the Critical Fixes is checked.
  4. Then, select Get Updates.

I'm adding this article for more guidance: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

@BoJangles2020, you'll want to update your QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release from time to time. Then, verify the release of your QuickBooks by clicking F2 on your keyboard. Once the release is included on the list below, you should be able to print the 3 part 1099-NEC.

  • QuickBooks 2022/Enterprise 22 - R3_71 (or later)
  • QuickBooks 2021/Enterprise 21 - R8_62 (or later)
  • QuickBooks 2020/Enterprise 20 - RR13_39 (or later)
  • QuickBooks 2019/Enterprise 19 - R16_55 (or later)

@Daily1, printing the 1099-NEC forms is available in all versions of QuickBooks Desktop. Once you're ready to print it, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Create your 1099s in QuickBooks.
  2. In the Choose a filing method window, select the Print 1099-NEC button.
  3. Select the date range for the forms, then choose OK.
  4. Choose all vendors you wish to print 1099s for.
  5. Select the Print 1099 button.
  6. Confirm your printer settings, then select Print.

You might want to learn more about 1099 forms. This article will provide you the detailed information: Get answers to your 1099 questions.

Please know you can continue to reach me here with any additional questions about 1099. Wishing you all the best, @MicheleAlbanese, @BoJangles2020, and @Daily1.
