I'll be happy to help share how you're able to run a trial balance, @jacobs1779.

You can pull up and customize a transaction detail of your report to see the list of accounts with beginning and closing balances. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Enter Trial Balance in the Search address.
  3. Open your Trial Balance report by clicking the name suggestion.
  4. Under the Report period menu, select the date that'll reflect the closing balance of your account.
  5. Select Run report.
  6. Click the amount for each account to view the list of beginning and closing balances.

From here, the deposit at the top is your beginning balance and the total amount shown at the bottom of your transaction list is the account's closing balance.

I'm adding this article to understand more about the other custom report to get a better view of your business's financial activity: Run Basic Financial Reports in QuickBooks Online.

It'll always be my pleasure to help if you've got questions other than generating a report. Use the Reply option below and leave your comment for me to help you move forward.
