Customer names can be added to most variants of the Profit and Loss report with ease, here's how:
Adding Customer Names to the P&L
- From QuickBooks Online, navigate to the Reports tab and type Profit in the search bar. Select the report you'd like to run from the pane below.
- Once it's open, set your desired Report period. Click the tiny Gear icon (⚙) in the top-right of the report, click Show More ▼, and check the Name box.
- Click Run Report at the top to include the added selections.

By doing this, you can add many different fields and columns to your Profit and Loss reports to sort by. Alternatively, I recommend checking out the Profit and Loss by Customer for a different view of income and expense information sorted by names. You can locate this report using the same instructions in Step 1.
