Hi there, HollyOsburn.

Thank you for visiting again the QuickBooks Community and I'm glad to know that the Reconciliation report records the check date as to when the entry cleared in your application. I'll ensure to share details on how you can customize the date of the check to see the date created in the recon report.

In QuickBooks Desktop, the option to filter the reconciliation report to list the date of the check as to when it was written is not available. In the meantime, you can export the Reconciliation and Transaction List by Customer reports to Excel. You'll be able to manually customize the reconciliation report from there and use the other one to view the entry's details.

Here's how for Transaction List by Customer:

  1. Go to the Reports menu at the top.
  2. Choose Customers & Receivables and select Transaction List by Customer.
  3. Select the Excel on the toolbar. You can also select Print or Email to save the report as a PDF.
  4. To create a new Excel workbook, click Create New Worksheet
  5. If you want to update an existing workbook with the data in the open report, choose Update Existing Worksheet
  6. Click Browse and then find the workbook on your computer. Keep in mind, this overwrites the existing workbook.
  7. When you’re ready to export, click OK. To open the report in Excel, you can also select Export.

To see further details, you can open this article: Export reports as Excel workbooks in QuickBooks Desktop. This also provides information on how you can get the latest version of the report from QuickBooks while you're in Excel.

Then, for the Reconciliation report, I've attached a screenshot below for visual reference.

Don't hesitate to visit the Community again if you need more help in managing your reports. Looking forward to assisting you again.
