This isn’t the kind of experience I want you to have after upgrading to QuickBooks Desktop 2021. Updating the program's maintenance release and performing Rebuild Data will repair those damaged memorized reports.
To start, download the latest release for your QuickBooks. This process will resolve any issues or errors you encounter when working in the desktop program. Let me guide you on how to do this in your company file.
- In your company file, click the Help menu at the top bar and choose Update QuickBooks Desktop.
- Go to the Update Now tab and tick the box for Reset Update to remove previously downloaded releases.
- Hit the Get Updates button and OK to continue.
- Once done, close and reopen your QuickBooks to kick off the installation.
Next, run the Verify Data Utility tool to check for damaged file items. If it finds one, running the Rebuild Data tool will repair the problem in your QuickBooks company file.
Here’s how:
- Go to the File menu at the top to choose Utilities and Rebuild Data.
- Click OK to create a backup of the company file.
- Press Save to keep the copy.
- Press the OK button once the Rebuild is completed.
- Then, go back to the File menu to choose Utilities and Verify Data.
