Let's try updating your QuickBooks for Mac to the Latest Version. Then, once the update has been completed, you can try going into the preferences again to see if the Custom option is showing.
If you're continuing to not see the Custom option available in the preferences, then I recommend contacting our Technical Support Team. Our tech support has the tools available to review your account in a secure environment and investigate why the option isn't showing for you further.
