I appreciate you for sharing the details of your concern with us, Brian.

I want to ensure I provide you the right resolution to fix the issue you’re having with importing an IIF file. Can you share with me the specific error message you received? Any additional information can help us narrow things down.

Also, you’ll want to make sure your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) is updated to the latest release. An outdated program can cause unusual behavior that prevents you from importing your file. Allow me to walk you through the steps.

  1. Go to the Help menu and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Click the Update Now tab.
  3. Select Get Updates to start the download.
  4. When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks.
  5. Then accept the option to install the new release.

For more insights, you can also check this article: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.

If the issue persists, I recommend running the Verify Rebuild tool. This tool scans your company file for errors and fixes it right away.

I’m also adding this link that you can utilize to learn more about importing IIF files. This provides complete information on the task you can do using IIF.

Keep me posted if you need further assistance importing your files in QBDT. I’ll be around to back you up. Have a good one!
