Thanks for joining this conversation, AndyRob.

I'd like to route you to the best support available to help remove the exceptions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If the exceptions are dated on or after the first VAT filing, these are classed as 'genuine exceptions' and will not be removed.

However, in your case, since they're dated before the VAT filing, I highly suggest contacting our Support team. They have tools that can pull up your account in a secure environment and help remove the exception and bring them back into the return.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. In QBO, click the Help (question mark) icon at the top right,
  2. In QB Assistant, enter the topic you need help with. You can also enter questions.
  3. Select Contact Us to connect with a live support agent.
  4. Choose a way to connect with us.

To check for our Support hours, you can refer to this article: QuickBooks Online Support.

For more information about VAT exceptions in QBO, consider checking out this article: VAT exceptions and reports in QuickBooks Online.

You can visit our website for more tips and other resources you can use in the future: Self-help articles.

I'm only a post away if you have follow-up questions about this or anything else. I'll be here ready to help. Keep safe.
