I publish a community newspaper, and we are not a "power user" of QB. In 2012, we purchased QB and have been using it ever since.
One day, earlier this year, when I launched QB I got a message that we had to upgrade to the online version. I was blocked rom launching QB.
I called customer support; they said I had to move to the online version, but I still have the QB registration from 2012 with a perpetual license, and I told tech support that we held that perpetual license. Her reply was, "I know, but you have to move to the online version." I told here that it was clear that she did not comprehend the meaning of "perpetual."
Still, I was locked out of my program, so I had no alternative but to go to the online version. It has been a disaster. Eeven the accountants I've spoken with hate this new version.
I am about to send letters to to the Fair Trade Commission and to our state Attorney General. I would certainly be interested in joining an a suit on the matter. (PII removed)
