Unbelievable!

QBO opted one of our companies into this ridiculous "Your customer pays the fee" sometime between 9/16/2025 and 9/23/2025. Fortunately, a lot of our invoicing is intercompany, and so I had full visibility on what the recipient sees.

sdillhoff - Thank you for providing the solution. I saw in "Invoice payments" in settings that "Accept Credit Cards" was toggled Off, "Accept ACH" was toggled Off, and "Your customer pays the fee" was toggled On. I was hesitant to make any changes here because I was certain it was trap.

Fortunately, I discovered this solution before we invoiced any external customers.

This is an incredibly deceptive way for Intuit QuickBooks to make money off these fees when they make the opt-in the default and the opt-out is so unbelievably obscure. Seems like extortion. QBO hasn't added this to our other companies (yet). I don't do the invoicing for our other companies, so if QBO were to add it for our other companies, I don't know if those invoices would get sent before we turned off the "Your customer pays the fee". I'm not optimistic, but I will submit feedback and tell QBO not to turn on "Your customer pays the fee" for our other companies.
