No one on this thread is trying to charge BOGUS charges!  At MOST retailers IN STORE that I go to in my town, have a note on register that says if you pay with CC you will have a 3-3.5% fee added (depends on store). Everywhere from "small businesses" to "auto repair shops" and businesses where I purchase my goods to provide my services!! I can also advise that to my client, but DO NOT have the option that if they CHOOSE to pay with CC, to automatically add the fee.  It looks dirty to GO BACK to my client after they have paid, EVEN though they read and agreed to terms to invoice them for a fee!!!  This is ridiculous!!!
