Hi krys bods,
Knowing more what happens when you try to open multiple tabs when working in the program will help with determining what's going on. All the same, I've got a few points I can go over with you to help you get back on track with working with multiple tabs and QBO and QBOA.
I have a feeling you're working in the QBO app for Windows/Mac like others in the thread have mentioned, and there are several ways to open a new tab. When you click the + at the top beside the tabs, the program will default to open a tab to the last account you had a open in a new tab during that login session. When you want to see a different client, you can choose from your client list in the Go to QuickBooks drop-down in QBOA to bring up their work.
It sounds to me like you may be trying to open a new tab for an account you currently have open, which is what's bringing you to another client account. The easiest way to tackle this is by right clicking on whatever you're trying to open, then choosing Open in new tab. This'll bring up a new tab for the same client account. If you're trying to open a new tab for your own QBOA account, you can do the same thing.
Give that a shot and let me know if it helps. If it doesn't, please share more detail about what's happening and how you're going about trying to open a new tab. I'll be here to help. :)
