Because of your message, I figured out how to use a different smtp address that uses ipage's server, not just the one associated with my domain. I checked the SSL box with that new server name and the email worked! QuickBooks Tech Support did nothing to solve my problem and sucked up a lot of my time, but I am so happy to have found the solution and made it more secure with your help. I didn't mind upgrading to a newer version of QuickBooks. But it's odd that the "QuickBooks Support Team" told me that was the older version was the source of my problem, tried to upsell me by $1000, and then it didn't even fix it. The real solution was not very difficult to implement either.
