This is ridiculous that a read only feature is not available. It is the whole reason we transitioned to Quickbooks online.  Every role has editing features which guarantees someone will accidentally alter the books.   Intuit really needs to disclose this glitch before people transition the books as there is no way to go back. I told our team I'd have them access today but am not comfortable with so many people having editing rights.  What a horrible mistake in product development and marketing.  Totally ridiculous.
