First off, I want to appreciate all the troubleshooting steps you've performed to fix the issue. To get started, let me share with you the possible causes why QuickBooks Desktop stopped working. Below are some of them:

 

  • You may have a damaged or missing QBWUSER.INI file
  • You may have corruption on your hard drive
  • Your program files or QuickBooks Desktop installation may be damaged
  • You may have a damaged Windows operating system

 

To get this resolved, let's run the Quick Fix my Program from the QuickBooks Tool Hub. This will run a quick repair on your program. Here's how:

 

  1. Download and install the latest QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. Once done, open the file and select Program Problems.
  3. Select Quick Fix my Program.
  4. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.
