I finally got it to stop, on Windows I went to the Windows Defender Firewall advanced setting and blocked QBW32.EXE and QBW32PremierWholesale.exe in both inbound and outbound rules. The second one will depend on which version of QB you are running. I did this 3 weeks ago and no pop-ups since then.

We have decided to not update QB and will never purchase another Intuit product. We are evaluating open source solutions, if anyone has a suggestion for one we would appreciate it. We have abandoned the idea of moving the data to the new system, would rather leave one computer with QB for when we need to look at old data.

Thankyou for highlighting this solution, A nice Christmas present!

I have just tested on QBW2019 and QB2021 Premiere versions, only blocking outgoing traffic (do not try to call home dear!) on QBW32.exe and QBW32Premiere.......exe and both have not asked for a login to Intuit.

(Using the basic Windows Defender Firewall Advanced Outbound rule - Add a new rule). They will be shown at the top of the list, so easy to delete if you have a problem later.

It is sad we have to resort to firewall blocking... I think by leaving the incoming unblocked you can still download critical security updates, if you want to.

Final testing done... Intuit are calling "home" (To Amazon and Akamai) on port 443 If your firewall blocks outgoing TCP port 443 on the two .exe files above that seems to prevent the Intuit Logon screen appearing on start, and still enables you to use email sending of invoices, and downloading of program updates (if you want)

This is not a "nice" way to help us, but I now have control over my accounting software (and hope this reminder does not magically reappear)
I am not sure what else is calling on port 443 from QB32 (yes this is 2021 and Intuit is still on 32bit software.....), so am not sure what else is affected. But, my accounting is not interrupted.
If you need help setting up your firewall, send me a PM and I will try to lead you through it. I now have my computer logging dropped connections at the firewall so I could see what was going on.

Intuit... Please fix this, we are happy with local security. If you need a one time license activation that is fine, but not a regular call home to log in.  I have been waiting over half a year to get this fixed.
