Get 50% OFF QuickBooks for 3 months*
Buy nowWe have a few different machines with different versions of Quickbooks installed on them. On a number of them, when we launch other applications, or when a different user (who doesn't use Quickbooks) logs in and runs programs, a message saying Please Wait While Quickbooks is Installed or something similar comes up, and an install starts. This install never completes, and typically can't be cancelled. If you click Cancel, it says it is canceling, but doesn't actually exit. In order to get around this problem, I have had to go into the registry and restrict access to 882996FDC8DC9B94B9627EA5816983B7, under Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UserData\S-1-5-18\Products\, preventing access from users who weren't using Quickbooks.
Is there some way to prevent this, short of making registry changes?
Thank you.
