Yes, that situation you mentioned above is possible. 

 

You'll need to set up a multi-user network for QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). The first thing you need to do is to have a single computer that will act as the host for your company file. 

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Select Custom and Network install for the install type, then hit Next.
  2. Choose the option that describes how you’ll use QuickBooks.
  3. On the next screen, tap Change the install location.
  4. Press Browse to decide where to install.
  5. Click Next to start, then Open QuickBooks to start.
