What my colleague is trying to say is that our Customer Support Team has the tools to look further into your QuickBooks Desktop account to see what could cause this to occur. However, let's try to run a repair on your account to help resolve the search function issue. Here's how: 

Note: Backup your company file before doing the following steps. 

1. Restart your computer. This makes sure there are no programs that may affect the repair.
2. Go to the Windows Start menu and then press Control Panel. 
3. Choose Programs and Features and then Uninstall a Program. 
4. Select QuickBooks from the list of programs and then Uninstall/Change. 
5. Hit Continue or Next. 
6. Click Repair and then Next. 
7. Press Finished once the repair is done. Note: You may have to restart your computer to complete the repair.
