Allow me to step in and provide clarification about converting your data from Sage to QuickBooks Desktop.
The good thing about the conversion tool is that it copies the data from Sage to QuickBooks. As long as your file from Sage is stored locally in your computer, you don't need to worry about losing the data when you process the conversion.
However, regarding your payroll, it'd be best to run it using Sage since the tool can't convert any of the following:
You'll need to manually enter historical payroll data using the QuickBooks Desktop Payroll subscription. You can refer to this article for more information: Enter historical payroll data.
Also, you'll need to be careful in choosing the correct file to convert. The conversion tool won't recognize this and will continue the process of converting.
