Before proceeding, please note that payroll tax payments can fail or be rejected for several reasons, including:
 

• Duplicate tax filing
• Invalid or incorrect account number
• Form submitted too early
• Incorrect tax deposit or filing schedule

If your payment was rejected, QuickBooks will send you an email explaining the reason. Ensure to check your email to understand the issue before resending the payment.
 

Once you’ve identified the reason, take the necessary steps to resolve it. After addressing the issue, you can recreate the payment and resend it.
