Yes, it's a very weird product decision, I just can't even imagine how they came to decide it makes sense. Omitting support for Sales Orders in the QBO was a huge mistake and then to make a 50% implementation in 2024 instead of just adding full support like the Desktop version makes on sense to me.

Sales Orders are not posting transactions, meaning they do not need integrate Sales Orders into the main accounting engine of the General Ledger, but it is incredibly useful to have Invoices per line item post back to Sales Orders to reflect partial shipments, or complete fulfillment of a Sales Orders.

Also, many kinds of scheduling and work order management can be done just by simply creating reports of open Sales Order line items by date, or by product, or whatever. And a Work Order is just a Sales Order with the pricing removed, etc.

The only way I can think this makes sense, is if they are trying to drive people into using Quickbooks Enterprise which has a much higher sales price. But, if the goal is to get people OFF Quickbooks Desktop to eliminate the support issues of releasing updates to security and Windows issues of the Desktop version, why send people into a QBO that is crippled in major ways with respect to basic business functionality? I don't get it.

And, I really don't like how they randomly scatter the gaps in functionality of QBO and then promote it as if it is a 1 to 1 swap from Quickbooks Desktop.
