Well, first the the right team will have to become aware of it.  And then be made to care.  And then they'll have a meeting to discuss how this issue stacks up against the others they have.  Maybe someone will put on a slide show.  Then they'll assign the issue to an engineer.  He'll be out on a religeous holiday for a few days (there are about 200 religious holidays per year in India). When he returns to work he'll spend a few days reading email. Then he'll look at the bug and spend a week or two trying to figure the issue out. Then he'll check in a fix that the testing department won't like as it doesn't work. Then he'll try again and the process will repeat.  Eventually they might get it right. Then they'll slate the fix for the next scheduled update, which will probably be in a few months.
