Since you have mentioned sluggish performance with the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), it's needed to examine the network environment and QuickBooks' capabilities and requirements to ensure optimal performance, Alexsupertramp.

To ensure consistent connectivity, please confirm that the FQDN (Fully Qualified Domain Name) resolves accurately to the server's IP address. This can be effectively checked by using networking tools such as nslookup and ping commands, which help diagnose resolution issues and response times.

Additionally, please monitor the integrity of the .nd (network data) file. This file contains critical network and multi-user configuration details and needs to accurately reflect the current server information. If some errors are found, it's advisable to delete and recreate the .nd file. QuickBooks is designed to automatically generate a new .nd file once the company file is reopened, ensuring up-to-date and accurate configuration.

Furthermore, I'll provide articles for you to learn more about multi-user mode and to map a network drive in QuickBooks Desktop:

Lastly, if you wish to gain knowledge on how to utilize an internet browser or a remote desktop connection to access QuickBooks Desktop from the comfort of your home or office, you can access this: How to host a QuickBooks Desktop company file.

Should you have more questions or require additional assistance with performance with the mapped drive, please reply below at your convenience. I'm here to respond.
