I've got the factors that impact the ability to Correct 1099s and the steps to achieve this in QuickBooks Online (QBO), remarkable11. Allow me to discuss them below.

Please know that you can only Correct your 1099 once it's Accepted by the IRS and filed directly using QuickBooks. Furthermore, Rejected 1099s would also hinder your ability to apply corrections.

To confirm the Status of the form, kindly follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Taxes menu, then select the 1099 filings tab.
  2. Modify the Current filings section.
  3. Check the Status of your 1099 from the list.
  4. If the 1099 is marked as Accepted, check if the Correct option is visible under the Actions column.

If the option to Correct the Accepted form is still not available on your end, I recommend contacting our Support Team so they can look into this matter thoroughly. You can also get in touch with the IRS to confirm if they've started allowing users to apply corrections in 1099s using platforms like QuickBooks. However, if the submission was Rejected, you can check this article, which provides instructions for handling this situation: Fix rejected 1099 forms.

I'm also attaching this resource that supplies information about commonly asked topics regarding 1099s: Get answers to your 1099 questions.
