Yes, you can print copies of the 1099s even after filing them electronically via QuickBooks Desktop, Mary Barge.

We'll need to update your QuickBooks Desktop file to the latest release and ensure we click the Reset Update checkbox. This allows for your 1099s to print correctly. Once done, we can print your 1099 forms again. Here's how:

  1. Go to Vendors, then select 1099 Forms, then Print/E-file 1099 Forms. Create your 1099s.
  2. In the Choose a filing method window, select Print 1099-NEC or Print 1099-MISC.
  3. Specify the date range for the forms, then choose OK.
  4. Select all vendors you wish to print 1099s for.
  5. Select Print 1099. Select Print 1096s instead, if printing Form 1096.
  6. Double-check your printer settings, then select Print.

You can check out this article for the steps and details: Print your 1099 and 1096 forms. Alternatively, if you are unable to print directly through the wizard for any reason, you can export the 1099 information and then print it from a PDF viewer. Here's how:

  1. Complete the steps above up to the print preview.
  2. Instead of sending directly to the printer, choose the option to Print to PDF if your system allows it, or use a PDF printer like Microsoft Print to PDF.
  3. Save the PDFs to your computer.
  4. Locate the saved PDF files on your computer.
  5. Open each PDF document with a PDF reader (like Adobe Acrobat Reader).
  6. Print the documents directly from the PDF reader.

This way, you have saved copies of your 1099s independent of QuickBooks, and you can print them anytime you need. If you're still experiencing printing issues, refer to the following resources:

Don't hesitate to post your reply if you have further questions about your 1099 Form or any QuickBooks-related concerns. We'll be here to address them. You have a good one, Mary Barge.
