My recent experience is that QB attempts to load an ADVERTISEMENT behind the Home window when you login.  This is causing the crash, and happens because Intuit hates us.

Try this:  Disable or disconnect internet from your computer.  Now start QB and login normally.  If QB stays up & no crash, this is your issue.  You can now reconnect to network/internet and continue as normal.

My customer had this issue many months ago and I was able to identify & fix the problem, unfortunately I don't remember what the fix was...  I will post the solution later today when I figure it out.
