I hope you're safe during the hurricane, @vkeith. Let me share some information about the alternatives of sending payroll to your employees without using the internet in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

 

You can process a manual paycheck without an internet connection due to a calamity. However, you must double-check the taxes since you cannot update the tax table without an internet.

 

To create paychecks, here's how:

 

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Desktop account.
  2. From the Employees menu, click on Pay Employees.
  3. Choose the name of the employee.
  4. Click the Open Paycheck Detail button (or fill in the information in the Excel row along with the employee's name and hit Continue).
  5. Enter the details of the payroll and click Save & Close.
  6. Click Continue and select Create Paychecks.

 

You can then print the paycheck to give it to your employees or send it outside QuickBooks. Keep in mind that if you pay outside QuickBooks, you can record that in QuickBooks once there is already an internet.
