New (and not improved) Estimates completely tied to Invoices now?

(for my first point - This is copied straight from the "help" page about the new Invoice setup.)

Your customers can review and approve your estimate online, right from the email you send them. You'll get alerts as soon as they respond.

First off - No - it isn't an approval button - the new Estimate now has a "Review and Pay" button - which I found on another thread you can't turn off without creating a new form - and the new new form creation screen doesn't allow me to actually add a VERY important Custom Field to the form. Not to mention that if I use a / or - in the text name (We call our Estimates both Estimates and Proposals) it shows on the final product as the ASCII code....  Nor can I find where to turn the Pay button off....    An estimate is an estimate, not an invoice!  We have had clients click on the button and there is no option to pay anyway!

- - - - - -

(for my second point - This is copied straight from the "help" page about the new Invoice setup.)

Go to Sales, then Invoices (Take me there) to check the status of all your estimates at a glance. From there, you can respond to your customers, revise estimates, or convert them to invoices when approvals come in.

Secondly - When I go to the Invoices screen (as indicated above) - GUESS WHAT? Only invoices show up....  Imagine that..

Third - I don't understand why, if Intuit is going to continue to fix things that aren't broken, why they choose to do so by making things worse?

**Hide the Estimate status under a side menu? Why?
**Show unused fields on the page and not give the option to turn them off on that same side menu?  Why?
**Add an "Edit Default Settings" link on the side menu that just leads you to signing in to your QB account again and doesn't actually take you the place that the default settings can be changed?  Why?
**Add a Design option on the side menu but say "Nope - you can't actually see what the final product is going to look like unless you use one of the new forms.... which by the way you can't actually adjust to suit your business..."  Why?

And to any Intuit folks that make it this far - I have checked in the browser login and the app. I have cleared my cache. I have logged out and logged back in.  Just don't go with the boilerplate answer!

I am supportive of progress and improvements.  But changes just for changes sake and changes that don't actually work - along with help pages that tell you to go places and do things that don't actually work that way.....  Yeah, that's a no from me.

QuickBooks used to be the industry standard. Now it just seems to want to be the industry joke.
