Allow me to help you so you can resolve your error about your password field that is grayed out, @CV4M.

A damaged data-related issue is likely causing you the inability to work with your company file in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) that prompts you to have your password field grayed out. If this is the case, you can perform some troubleshooting steps.

Let's start by downloading and installing the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Here's how:

  1. Close QuickBooks.
  2. Download the most recent version (1.6.0.3) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub and save the file somewhere you can easily find it.
  3. Locate the QuickBooksToolHub.exe file that you downloaded and open it.
  4. Please follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation, then agree to the terms and conditions.
  5. Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.

Once done, follow the steps below to run a quick repair on your program:

  1. Choose Program Problems in the tool hub.
  2. Select Quick Fix My Program.
  3. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

For more information and to proceed to Solution 2 in fixing this error, refer to this article: QuickBooks Desktop won't open.

However, if the issue persists after doing some troubleshooting steps, I suggest contacting the support team again to check further what's causing this and determine possible solutions.

In case you lost or forgot your password, check this article to help you reset your password: Reset password.

Please keep me posted on your progress in getting this issue resolved, @CV4M. I want to ensure that you can properly log in to QuickBooks without having an error.
