Let's figure out the cause of the grayed-out and fix it to keep you going with your task, StarTrek133.

Microsoft Excel should be installed on the computer, and if you are using Microsoft Office 365, be sure you are using the version that is installed on your computer, not the browser version.

Then, make sure your QuickBooks version is up to date and that it meets the system requirements. Each QuickBooks Desktop version is compatible with particular versions of Microsoft Office. Check the system requirements for your QuickBooks version (202120222023). You can also follow Microsoft's instructions to fix Microsoft Office.

Another possible solution is to toggle your Windows UAC (User Account Control) settings on and off. This can help reset any obstacles preventing the export feature from functioning correctly.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Open the Windows Start menu.
  2. Type User Account Control Settings into the search bar and open the corresponding result.
  3. Move the slider to the Never Notify position.
  4. Click OK to save the changes.
  5. Restart your computer to apply the new settings.

If the problem continues, proceed to Step 5, mentioned in this article to resolve any issues you encounter while exporting to Excel: Fix export to Excel issues in QuickBooks Desktop.
