Quickbooks needs to resolve this issue. My business is a sole proprietorship and where I have always had a SSN entered for my business an unknown EIN was populated. I am unable to format a SSN and was told that this was blocked in January by the Help Desk and that this is currently an issue. My 1099s were rejected by the IRS. I need to file these by 1/31 and have no way around this. I need the SSN to also be printed for my business on the subcontractor's 1099-NEC forms. There must be a way to resolve this. I am being asked to void and resubmit, but the same problem exists. I have used Quickbooks for five years for my 1099s and this has never been an issue before. I have spent countless hours with the Help Desk with no resolution. Please advise and provide guidance how to enter my SSN. Additionally when you click on the EIN, there is a notice that Sole Proprietorships do in fact use a SSN for tax id purposes, but the formatting will not work and I am blocked from entering. Thank you for correcting this issue as soon as possible and making those impacted aware. 

 

MY 1099'S FROM SEVERAL DAYS AGO WERE REJECTED BY THE IRS TODAY FOR INCORRECT FORMATTING... it appears the software is formatting SSN's on 1099's as EIN's this year, in the PAYERS TIN box.
