Hello there, @ccbell. We'll share details about how you can send a feature request to have the option to track back-ordered items inside QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Before anything else, know that the Gear icon is a section inside QBO where other options and features can be selected. Also, it's where you can click the Feedback option to send recommendations to our Product Development Team. With that said, you can access these options if you have an active QBO subscription account.
We also have another way to send a recommendation to our engineers if you don't have a QBO subscription and company. We'll write down the steps to get you going:
- Go to this page: https://feedback.qbo.intuit.com/
- Click Give feedback.
- Sign in or log in using your personal email address.
- Give a brief description of your idea and then send feedback.
