Hi there, @dragonfly2.

Let me provide some information on what the Processing status means when filing your 1099s with QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

QBDT simplifies the task of filing 1099s for your contractors by using the information in your account to prepare your forms. Once you've prepared and filed your 1099s, you can head back to your Tax1099 account to check your status. I'll list the different status types below for you.

  • Pending - Forms are in queue to be sent to the IRS on the scheduled date.
  • Processing - Forms have been sent to the IRS. It typically takes a few days to get a response from the IRS. However, during the busier part of the tax season, there could be a much longer delay when there is heavy traffic on the FIRE system.
  • Accepted - The IRS has accepted your filed forms.
  • Rejected - The IRS has rejected your filed forms.
  • Blocked - Forms have been blocked and will not be sent to the IRS.

In your case, there are no extra steps to take at the moment. You'll just need to wait if the IRS accepts or rejects your forms.

You can check out this article for details on how to check your submission status: Create and file 1099s with QuickBooks Desktop. It also contains information on how to correct, view, and print 1099s.

For future use, here's a helpful article about checking your historical tax payments and forms in QuickBooks: View your previously filed tax forms and payments.

Please let me know if you have any other questions about filing your 1099s. Never hesitate to reach out here in the Community. We are just one post away. Keep safe.
