Looking into the Account Listings and the Account Edit, we don't actually use that middle dot.  QuickBooks adds it automatically.  There doesn't seem to be a way to change what it is adding, i.e. defaulting to a dash rather than the dot.  Is there a company-wide setting that needs to be changed?  Or is there perhaps a hidden corner within QuickBooks that will allow us to change this separator?

To recreate:

Chart of Accounts

Right click an account that has the dot

Choose Edit Account

The Edit Account window has the account name and then, under it, "Subaccount of."  Regardless of whether or not it's a subaccount, QB names the line 'Account #' [dot] 'Account Name' if there is no subaccount or 'Account #' [dot] 'Account Name' [dot] 'Subaccount' if there is a subaccount.
