Hi there, mlowitz. I'm here to help ensure you're able to switch back to the old layout for invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

As mentioned by my colleague above, QuickBooks Online gives you the option to switch back and forth between the old and new layouts. To isolate this, let's sign in to your QBO using a private browser (incognito). There are times when the browser is already full of frequently accessed page resources (cache and cookies), causing some unusual responses.

Here are the keyboard shortcuts to open a private browser:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift +N

Once you've login via a private window, try to switch back to the old invoice layout.

  1. Select + New.
  2. Select Invoice or Estimate.
  3. Select Old layout.

If it works, I recommend clearing your browser's cache. Doing so will remove the historical data and access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also switch to a different supported browser.

To learn more about the new layout/experience, consider checking out this article: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, you can check out this article if you need to personalize your sales forms in the future: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Don't hesitate to reply anytime if you still have questions or concerns about managing invoices. I am always here to help. Take care, and have a great day ahead.
