As provided by my colleagues above, choosing to enter a Journal Entry records expenses under an accrued liabilities account.

 

You don't have to use a bill when recording manual payroll. You'll want to stick to this JE method to ensure your payroll expenses are accrued properly.

 

However, it would be best to seek professional advice from your accountant to ensure the accuracy of your accounts. If you're not affiliated with one, you can utilize our Find an Accountant tool to look for one in your area.
