I understand how important it is to maintain track of the quantity of each inventory item when it is added to a sale. In your case, there are times when you get a window asking for a quantity for a particular transaction, and others do not. I suggest verifying the user preference in the General section that says Bring back all one time messages. You'll want to enable it to restore the popup and warnings for some areas in QuickBooks Point of Sale.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Open your QuickBooks Point of Sale, then navigate to File.
  2. Select Preferences and choose Company.
  3. Under General options, place a checkmark beside Bring back all one time messages.
