I had this issue; call Intuit directly 1-800-4INTUIT and they can assist in removing the files creating the error popup message. If you have a current paid subscription to QB desktop, their support to do this is included in the cost. They are aware and know what to do... thinking it has something to do with where the QB installation file was downloaded.
