Buy nowWhen I have issues with QuickBooks (I use Desktop and Online versions) and I try to find answers on the community boards, I find it impossible to find relevant information. I was a CPA for 20 years and have been using QuickBooks for 30, so my questions are typically related to changes made to the software and new glitches that have been introduced by Intuit, not how to post depreciation or record a vendor deposit.
The only search options available are by product. There is no way to search titles versus posts, provide date ranges for the search(?!), use advanced boolean arguments (seriously?) or filter posts by number of comments.
It seems that there is a deliberate attempt on the part of Intuit to completely neuter the community aspect of this "community". Almost every search I perform gives me page 1 results from years ago that are completely irrelevant to my question. Not to disparage small business owners or non accountant types, but the same questions are asked and answered almost on a daily basis. With no meaningful way to search, it is destined to always be thus.
I don't think Intuit wants coherent discussion. If they did, perhaps the voices of their increasingly agitated customers would be amplified. Best to suppress the dissent with the chaos that is QB community search.
