Buy now@mallen_TF RE: It's also funny, your team advised a fix that corrected the issue partially (when switching between company files), which seems to give greater indication that the problem exists within Quickbooks' code and not your customer's computers or other software.
I'm sure you're right.
I'm pretty sure this is the cause of the issue, which started in June right around when the article says
QuickBooks would start using a new internal browser: New built-in browser replaces IE 11 in QuickBooks Desktop on June 10, 2022
The new built-in browser is an open-source utility from a 3rd party, which IMO is a recipe for disaster.
Despite the claim in the article, "It’s reliable and will include critical security updates. Updates will be provided if and when they become available.", the versions of the utility current installed are quite old and have not been updated. And, it seems, not at all reliable.
Features like the Home page and various up-sell marketing windows that appear unannounced use the built-in browser - they're really local web pages.
We know that turning off the Home page in preferences helps with the crashing, and it could be that other crashes users are seeing are caused when they use features that use the build-in browser, or when QuickBooks tries to display marketing windows at seemingly random times.
