With the suggestion from Firebird2600, I was able to open one of my company files that has never opened without crashing since QuickBooks released their R5 version. Great detective work Firebird2600. Now that the root cause has been identified, QuickBooks Support, please let us know when Intuit will be creating an update to fix the problem that is causing so many QuickBooks desktop users to crash regularly. Since it is quite apparent that this issue has never been an issue with the company files or systems of the individual consumers of QuickBooks but instead an issue with QuickBooks desktop itself, it would be appreciated if Intuit would acknowledge the issue and treat this as a priority to fix the QuickBooks desktop issue.
