QBO Security Out of Control

I have contacted Intuit support twice about this issue via telephone and they have not been able to resolve the problem. Maybe someone else is experiencing the same thing.

For about the past month, QBO is forcing me to use two factor authentication every time I log in. What was an easy process to log in to my QBO account has now become a tedious chore.

First, 2FA is turned OFF in my Intuit account and it has never been turned on by me. I have tried turning the setting explicitly on and back off again and nothing changes. I have also cleared all browsing history several times.

Here is what happens when I log in to QBO:

1) Prompted for user name (remembered by browser).

2) Asked to click a CAPTCHA check box EVERY TIME.

3) Prompted for password (remembered by browser).

4) Asked to perform 2FA via text or email EVERY TIME.

These same steps will have to be performed every single time I try to log in to QBO even if it is only an hour or two later.

In addition, every couple of days, I am prompted to confirm my bank connections with 2FA even after I have logged in.

This level of security is making day to day use of QBO unusable and annoying! And I did not ask for it to be implemented and need it to be removed.

I am using the Chrome web browser on macOS Big Sur, although I have also tested Safari with the same results. The only change is if I open an incognito window in which case there is no 2FA, just a simple log in and password (remembered by the browser).

Something is causing intuit to flag my machine, IP, I don't know what, as a high risk. I have been using the same machine for 5 years with QBO without these problems.

Thanks in advance if you can offer any advice or assistance.

Andrew
