While waiting for your response to Fiat Lux - ASIA's clarifying questions, I'm also here to provide additional help for you, Sagie.

Before anything else, could you please clarify whether you are referring to QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop 2008? This information will enable me to offer a more tailored solution for resolving the specific error you are experiencing.

Though the error you mentioned occurs when there is a problem with the QuickBooks license or the company file. Considering this, I assume you are utilizing the US version of QuickBooks Desktop. If so, you can fix this by following the information outlined below.

Solution 1: QuickBooks Desktop 2008 is a discontinued product. That means you need to have a supported version of QuickBooks and ensure you have the latest updates. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Select Update Now, then choose Get Updates.
  3. Once done, close and reopen QuickBooks.
  4. Pick Yes when asked to install the update

Solution 2: Run the QuickBooks Tool Hub to diagnose, fix any issues and resolve common errors.

  1. Close QuickBooks and download the most recent version (1.6.0.3) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub.
  2. It'll download as QuickBooksToolHub.exe.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
  4. Double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
  5. In the QuickBooks Tool Hub, select Installation Issues.
  6. Select 3371 Error Fix.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Start QuickBooks Desktop and open your data file.

Solution 3: Perform a clean reinstallation. This process can help resolve any installation-related issues that may be causing the error.

  1. Open the Windows Start menu. Search for “Control Panel”, then open Control Panel.
  2. Select Programs and Features or Uninstall a Program.
  3. From the list of programs, select the version of QuickBooks Desktop you want to remove.
  4. Select Uninstall/Change, Remove, and then Next.  If you don’t see this option, sign out and sign back in to Windows as an admin (or a user with admin rights).
