I completely understand the significance of having the description column sized appropriately to ensure clarity and ease of use. I’ve considered a couple of solutions: either zooming out your browser window or adjusting the custom form style.
First, we can press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard, then press the - (minus) key to zoom out or click the three dots found on the upper right corner of your browser. Then go to Zoom and click the minus sign.
We can also adjust the Custom form style to better control the column width, which could provide a more tailored and effective solution, allowing the description field to display neatly without compromising readability. Here's how:
- Click the Gear icon located in the upper right corner of your QuickBooks Online dashboard and select Custom Form Styles from the menu.
- Find the form style linked to the transaction type you'd like to modify (such as Invoice or Sales Receipt) and select Edit.
- Navigate to the Content section within the form editor.
- Within the layout preview, click the middle area where the Description field appears to access its settings.
- Ensure the box labeled Include description is checked so the description field will be displayed on your form.
- Select the Edit Labels and Widths option to customize the column sizes.
- Modify the width of the Description field (and other columns if needed) by adjusting the sliders.
- When you’re happy with the changes, click Done to finalize your adjustments.
