I agree, not one of my clients has gone to or are considering QuickBooks Online. Those that can cope with very basic software have gone to the cloud but elsewhere, but they would go back to Desktop without hesitation. The other two are still desperately trying to find alternatives. One with a massive stock control and individual customer discounts per individual item requirement, the other project based with some manufacturing requiring stock control with a material build linking to the project function. I cannot get my head around the fact that we have had such full functionaltiy for over 20 years and the software developers think that a basic cloud based software is an acceptable alternative. How can that be regarded as a technological advance? The only people loving this option are the ones noted in the marketing campaigns. Individuals who don't want to be bothered with the administration of their fledgling businesses. If you don't use bank feeds you can't accept a payment in advance, credit notes are an issue unless you allocate it to an invoice - customers want to see the credit on their statements - part deliveries and part invoices for a purchase order are common place, you can do this but then have to re-input the balance of the PO. I agree it is great for new start ups but no use to established business.
