Let's get your QuickBooks Online (QBO) ready for use in China, Lily.

To begin with, please note that QBO accounts are specific to a particular region and once created, the country setting cannot be changed.

If you want to use your existing account for basic tasks such as sending invoices or viewing reports, you can do so, as QBO is cloud-based and accessible from anywhere. You can enable the multicurrency feature to handle transactions in different currencies.

However, if your business is registered in China and your current account was set up for a different country, you'll need to create a new account specifically for China. This will help ensure that your software complies with local regulations, including the appropriate address formats and tax rates.

To create a new account, here's how:

  1. Visit the country selection page: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/choose-country/.
  2. Select the country you want to subscribe to.
  3. Choose your subscription plan.
  4. Click Add another company and sign in with your existing Intuit credentials.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up the account.

Once your new QBO account is ready, please refer to the article below to transfer your existing lists, such as customers, vendors, and products. Due to import limitations, some transactions may need to be entered manually.

Additionally, when you first sign in to QBO, the homepage dashboard provides an overview of your company, a setup checklist, and a task list highlighting items that need your attention. For more details, refer to this article: Get started and adjust settings after you sign up.
